Four fat-rich foods that help you lose weight

Every time you think of the word diet, you probably think of having to resist delicious food and episodes of starvation and suffering. But there is good news. You can actually have a weight-loss diet without dramatically cutting out all fats. However, you still need to take your precautions on this. Now, on the bright side there are foods that are fat-rich that can actually help you lose weight.

An experiment conducted by a magazine had a group divided into two teams. Participants of one team were given two tablespoons of coconut oil every day and the others were given soybean oil.  The results showed that both teams actually lost weight but only those that consumed coconut oil actually experienced a decrease in the waistline.  Coconut is high in saturated fat. More than half of it is from lauric acid, which helps fight bacteria and it also helps with cholesterol.

Avocado

Avocados are delicious and nutritious. They have been victims of some bad press due to misinformation.  The truth is that an avocado does have a significant amount of fat but most of it is unsaturated and helpful to control cholesterol levels.  It is important to limit your avocado intake to a quarter or half of one in a day.

Greek yogurt

Greek yogurt can contain as much sugar as a candy bar. Now, this does not really sound like a good idea. Your body transforms excess sugar into lipids after all.  However, Greek yogurt contains proteins and a good amount of fat.  This amount of fat in the morning will keep you from feeling hungry before lunch so that you won’t feel the need to snack.

Grass-fed beef

Grass-fed beef contains a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to reduce the risks of a heart disease. It also contains less calories than your regular beef.  It is a rather expensive choice but one that is worth the price.
