Running to Lose Weight

First of all, take the time to get used to running.
Your body will need time to adapt and get used to running. If you don’t give your body time to adjust before pushing yourself further it is much more likely that you will pull a ligament or a muscle.
Second of all, run slowly more consistently.
You don’t have to push yourself too fast into a running program. You can start by running just a day or two for about 10 minutes at a time. Then you can slowly increase the time when you feel you are ready.
Third, create a running program that is right for you.
If you create your own running program, you will be more likely to lose weight. If you just follow a random running program you find online, you may find that it will be too difficult and you will be more likely to give up. Figure out what works for you and stick with it.
Last but not least, add strength training.
After you have become a more regular runner, you can start to add some strength training. This will help you to build your muscles at the same time and you will be able to increase your running time.
