Vitamin D the nutrient with a key to Weight Loss

Researchers have concluded that Vitamin D may well be the next weight loss pill. The US researchers who conducted a study found that the groups with a high level of Vitamin D in their blood were more likely to lose weight that with people with less levels of the vitamin.

It was found that when the group of overweight people went on a low calorie, those with high levels of Vitamin D were able to lose more weight and with more ease. The recommended dosage of vitamin is 1000IU on a daily basis.

The other findings of this study was that the group lost belly fat easily after they increased their intake of Vitamin D. Belly fat is very difficult to lose but with this wonderful vitamin even that seems to be a possibility.

The conclusion was that people who have opted for a weight loss programme should have their Vitamin D levels checked along with blood counts and the level of folic acid.

Vitamin D is naturally found in the early morning sun and many are recommended to spend some time under the sun from early morning to 8am. Beyond this, the sun’s ultra violet radiation will start increasing. One should have food rich in vitamin D. The vitamin is present in fish, tuna, mushrooms strawberries, milk and eggs. One can even have Vitamin D supplements. However for children it is best to provide them with food where vitamin D is present naturally.
