In a study carried out by the scientists, it has been found that a combination of fish oil, meal replacement and a less calorie diet can help you to manage weight and improve your metabolism. The Global Nutrition Company, Herbalife and the Taipei Medical University teamed up and carried a study that resulted that in a period of 12 weeks, the participants had lost 4.5 kg, 6.5 cm in the circumference of the waist and had reduced 2.5 % body fat. Apart from this, the level of glucose in the blood, the triglyceride level and the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol could be controlled by using this method.
David Heber, the Chairman of the Herbalife Nutrition Institute said that the metabolic syndrome had caused increase in the circumference of the waist, blood sugar, cholesterol and the blood pressure. It also increased the risk of heart disease as well as diabetes. This is the most common condition in Asia. They also revealed how important it was to combine meal replacement and omega 3 fatty acids for a better management of weight with metabolic syndrome. This poses a significant effect on the physical and economic burden. Asia is becoming an epicentre for this global epidemic. This study was conducted so that the world can stand together and fight against the global obesity epidemic. The results of the study were issued in the Journal of Functional Food and the Journal of Clinical Nutrition of Europe.
