Do Diet Pills Work?
Those who are overweight will try just about anything to lose the extra fat in their body. But the problem is that people become obese mostly because they are too lazy and do not get involved in physical activities. Only very few percentage of people are obese because of genetic reasons. For overweight people who want to lose weight without making any physical efforts, there are a lot of over the counter products in the market. But the question is, do these products really work and can they be the replacement to workouts and healthy diet?
Some of the diet pills are created to kill your appetite and aid the bowel movement without necessarily improving the digestive system. With more fecal discharge and less consumption of food, you may tend to lose weight over a period of time. However, these diet pills may have some serious side effects.
Most of the over the counter diet pills have laxatives in them. This is precisely why your bowel movements become so smooth. But your body is not supposed to rely on laxatives for the discharge of faeces. You should have a good digestive system to take care of this. Laxatives do not really help improve your digestive system. Also, if you get used to taking the laxatives, you may also have problems during the fecal discharge without them.
Since these pills kill your appetite you end up eating less. As a result, your body does not get all the nutrients it needs. Thus, these diet pills affect your overall health indirectly.
